2008 Payette River Roundup
The Payette River Roundup
is tentatively scheduled for May 18th. We plan to launch at the ramp located just above the
bridge about one mile north of Horseshoe Bend. We would like to have all the boats launched and
headed up river by 9:00 am and then back down-stream and on the trailers by 12:00 to 12:30 pm.
This schedule should help reduce conflict with rafters and kayakers.
The minimum river flow for this run is typically set at 5,500 cfs, so low water
may curtail the run this year.
This is a fun, but technical run. There are some really nice rapids and there
is a lot to learn. If you're new to jetboating, this is not a good starter run. In fact,
even if you are an experienced jetboater, but not familiar with this stretch of river, you might want
to catch a ride with someone else, before attempting it on your own.
On Sunday afternoon, we'll have a barbeque at the city park in Horseshoe Bend.
The club will be providing hamburgers, buns, and the fixings along with plates and utensils. We
ask that members bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Questions regarding this run should be directed to:
Jeff@westernwhitewater.org. We look forward to seeing you on the river.
