Snake River Cleanup Projects
The WWA generally organizes one or more community service
projects to pick up trash along the Snake River below Swan Falls Dam in south central
Idaho. As a rule, these projects are scheduled for July and/or November.
WWA cleanup efforts are often concentrated along the river corridor within the Snake River Birds of
Prey National Conservation Area.
These outings do not meet the normal definition of recreation; however, there is always a good crew of dedicated members and other civic minded individuals on hand to complete the job.
Seeing the results of the cleanup, does provide volunteers with a good deal of satisfaction.
Participants also witness on a first-hand basis the tragic results of careless stewardship of a public
resource and always gain a deeper appreciation for the meaning of "responsible shared use".
