2003 Hells Canyon Weed Control Project

Every year, the WWA participates in noxious weed control projects as part of a cooperative effort with the U.S. Forest Service, the Idaho Department of Agriculture, other government agencies, and private property owners.

The 2003 Hells Canyon Weed Control Project was a combined operation by the WWA and the U.S. Forest Service to suppress noxious weeds - primarily Yellow Starthistle - above the Snake River in Hells Canyon.  With ever shrinking budgets, the Forest Service recognizes the value of organizations such as the WWA, because of the support and active assistance they provide in maintaining public resources.
