2005 Hells Canyon Run

The 2005 Hells Canyon Run was held over the weekend of September 17 & 18 at Pittsburg Landing on the Snake River in the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area.  A lot of people came in several days ahead of time in order to extend the fun and enjoy the beautiful late summer weather.  By Friday morning the lower Pittsburg Landing campground was packed and there was little room left in the upper camping area.  The "official" WWA scheduled events took place on Saturday.  Many of the experienced boaters made the 55 mile round-trip run down the Snake River from Pittsburg Landing to the confluence of the Salmon River and back.  Others ran up river.  There were also a number of training sorties where new members or those unfamiliar with the river received instruction from those familiar with the river.  Saturday night the WWA hosted a steak dinner and Keith and Rene offered up their now-famous ice cream social.
