2005 Salmon River Jetboat Races

Each year on the third weekend in April, the WWA provides safety boats for the Salmon River Jetboat Races at Riggins, Idaho.  Typically, a dozen or more safety boats are needed along the race course, and the WWA normally provides a significant portion of these craft.  The 2005 races were held April 16 & 17.  The course provided some spectacular action as the boats maneuvered through rapids like Tight Squeeze, Time Zone, and the confluence of the Little Salmon River.  And, the open water around Shorts Bar provided the opportunity for the racers to put the "pedal to the metal".  Again this year, WWA members pitched in and provided a majority of the safety boats along the course.
