2000 Salmon River Weed Control Project

Each spring, the WWA participates in a Salmon River Noxious Weed Control Project within the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness as part of a cooperative effort with the U.S. Forest Service, the Idaho Department of Agriculture, and private property owners.

Click to Enlarge Better known for their whitewater boating abilities, WWA members quickly acquire necessary weed control skills when the places they love are in need of a helping hand.

Parking wasn't particularly convenient, but the scenery couldn't be beat.  The windsock emphasizes another motorized use that Congress mandated when "The Frank" was established. Click to Enlarge No, that's not a mountain goat in the circle - it's a WWA member looking for weeds to pull.  Hand pulling is an alternative to spraying, but is effective only if the infestation is small.
